Power meter test showed about 9 watts on VHF and 7 watts on UHF. The sound quality is good. Buttons sometimes not responding. The battery clip is easy to hit when using the belt clip. The built-in antennas work well. The telescopic antenna is not optimal. Reports were worse with this antenna. In most cases I use the matched smiley antennas and the longer antenna from the kit. The additional power allowed me to use the radio in my apartment more often. The battery life is excellent. Random use and monitoring give me 2 to 3 days of use. Programmable with Chirp.
