Regardless of your noise reduction settings.

It doesn't matter what noise reduction setting you have, it's either full or off. Cross-band repeat works well. Power is not quite what they say. Check out my website on my profile for a video review.

Power 10 watts, good entry-level radio.

Battery life is very good, the sound is loud, very easy to program from the front panel. Also good to hear radio. I'm hitting repeaters 12-22 miles away. Well suited for use in repeater systems, but the use of the simplex is of course much more limited. 10W is better than 5W or 8W models.

Pros
  • Solid build
Cons
  • Some flaws

Great radio with repeat function in different ranges!

Fantastic radio! Easy to program. Works great and great price for what comes with it. Will buy more. It scans slower than some radios. According to a previous reviewer, the "Rubber Duck" antenna is telescoping with the green rubber band on the bottom. At first I didn't understand and thought that I don't have a telescopic antenna either, but I did.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Protection

Not easy to program

I got this radio last November or December. I could not program this radio. It took me a few weeks to find someone to do this for me and she was in trouble. It took her phone calls to finally find out. The company did not help. It didn't come with a disc either. Still, for the money and extras you get with it, it's a good deal. If you are a beginner or not a nerd, I would not recommend this.

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • Requires socket

Not bad at all - CB and talkback radios

Power meter test showed about 9 watts on VHF and 7 watts on UHF. The sound quality is good. Buttons sometimes not responding. The battery clip is easy to hit when using the belt clip. The built-in antennas work well. The telescopic antenna is not optimal. Reports were worse with this antenna. In most cases I use the matched smiley antennas and the longer antenna from the kit. The additional power allowed me to use the radio in my apartment more often. The battery life is excellent. Random use…

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Great price

not quite like the picture, no telescopic antenna but there are 3 rubber duckies of different sizes. Bought to replace a 10 year old UV-F1. Good reports about simplex and about repeaters. Unlike some other Chinese radios, this is easy to program manually if you're just watching a few videos. The scan function isn't that fast, but I only scan about 7 frequencies, so it's not a problem for me. I would give it 5 stars, but with the "Display Name" feature enabled, every unnamed channel is blank on…

Pros
  • stylish and modern design
Cons
  • slightly wrinkled
