Review on πŸ”‘ Enhance Your Honda Civic with EasyGO AM-CIVIC-NH787M Smart Key Remote Start, Alarm System, and Cool Mist Metallic Door Handle by Reggie Kern

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It would be great to work with some small tweaks

Actually I would probably give the whole experience with this system 4.5 stars. The performance and quality of the system would have been around 3.75 stars and EasyGO's technical support was so outstanding that the system was upgraded to 4.5 stars. Despite the fact that in the end I decided to return the system. Below I have tried to explain my experience and point out things to consider when installing one of these systems. Summary: The system worked great, there were still a few things to do after the initial setup, but I just didn't feel comfortable having to go back and change more things to get everything working properly. Detailed explanation below. I live in Southern California (where EasyGO is headquartered) and since none of the Honda dealerships I contacted have installed the system, an EasyGO rep was kind enough to commission one of their most experienced testers to install the system for $300 give an order. . I was very happy because if someone could install properly, they could. So he installed the system in about 2.5 hours and everything worked fine except for a few issues which I will list below. The start button worked fantastic and looked great on the steering column shroud. The remote start worked great too. Pressing the buttons takes some practice because if you turn off the system and then start it remotely, the car will turn off after a few seconds. I'm not sure if this would have continued to be an issue if I hadn't removed it, but as soon as I started waking the system, the machine remotely booted and ran with no issues. The door handle worked, but with a slight delay as the Honda system was communicating with it. Here are two issues that made me remove it and return it: 1) The door handle was a slightly different shade of Dyno Pearl Blue. , which looked good in certain lighting conditions but looked two-toned in other lighting conditions. The technician explained that even with the OEM factory color code, there are at least 15 different, minor tint variations for a given color, making it virtually impossible to match a color without a physical match to the actual car. Apparently, with this problem knows the worst. I could definitely have it painted for around $30-$50, but I decided to just return it rather than risk getting stuck with something I'm not 100% happy with. keychain. The tech said he could fix it with a different relay, but I didn't want to make any additional modifications just to get it working properly. Also, I believe a fuse blew during installation and the stereo stopped working. (He replaced the fuse when removing it and everything was fine). He said that the Honda has a very sensitive fuse that blows if you "breathe the car hard enough". Anyway, I just asked him if he could remove the system because I just didn't feel comfortable making any more changes, mainly paint on the grip. He agreed to the deletion and returned the car to the factory 100% as before. The only difference was that the button was still in the bezel as the bezel had to be drilled. I buy a new (no holes) panel for $15. There is also a small piece of plastic sawn off just behind the button location to accommodate the back of the button and wiring. The only reason EasyGO doesn't include a separate OEM panel like the other kits is that the CIVIC panel is quite big and bulky, covering the entire right and left side under the steering wheel. Other kits (Ford, Toyota, etc.) all have small panels on the dash that can be replaced with the EasyGO keyboard. He removed the entire system in about 30 minutes and I'm pretty sure the only factory wire he had to cut was the one from the key in ignition with door open sensor, which he easily reconnected after removing. Since this is an OEM system, it did not need to be connected to the factory wiring. It was only plugged in and then unplugged to remove. So if you're considering installing this system, it's still a good system, but the main thing to keep in mind is to make sure you get a very knowledgeable and experienced (preferably EasyGO Installer) technician to do the installation, and check Be sure to check this Door Knob for exact color matching prior to installation so you can paint if desired. Oh, one more thing, be sure to ask the dealer to cut at least one copy. Factory key before installation. Just let them carve it like a simple metal key, no chip needed. The installer has to shave off the key and put it in the ignition switch to bypass the steering wheel lock. Those issues aside, I'd really like to keep the system. EasyGO technical support via phone and email went out of their way to help me with the installation and subsequent uninstallation. I really can't say enough about how professional, polite and just plain wonderful these guys are. I will say this, if you call or email them with a question, read the manual first. Most of the information is in the manual. . They are happy to answer specific questions that may not be covered in the manual. Just make sure you state what you need to answer. . He said the F150 is pretty easy to install, but he also said the Civic isn't much different, it just needs someone who knows what they're doing. Hope that helps!
