I received this to separate my pregnant guppy. I found time is important because the box is small. After the day she was a little tense. I also use it to catch my mystery baby snails and hatched a group on the lid. I have no problem with escaping snails or juvenile fish. The slots are too small. The suction cups sometimes work a little too well and I cursed that when moving the box between tanks. LOL Highly recommended but not delimited for your little moms. Not enough space.
