When it works it's great BUT: Breville uses a cheap plastic impeller that wears out. The impeller pushes the coffee out after grinding. If the impeller is not working, the coffee beans cannot fall into the grinders. Apparently this happened a few years ago. I bought mine in December 2015. This problem first appeared on the BCG820 but also occurs on other models such as the BCG400SIL, BCG600SIL and BCG800XL. The BCG820 has a metal "armor" that simply covers the impeller, but underneath is just a piece of plastic, similar to other models. This piece of metal doesn't actually do anything other than "look" like metal just looking at it from above with a ridge. The problem only occurs after the warranty has expired. For me it started about 6-7 months after the end of the warranty period. Breville does not sell replacement parts on its website. You can find detailed information about the problem on Google "Hidden defect in Breville coffee grinders". There is a guy who sells a 3D printed impeller for the BCG800 which you can find by searching "BCG800XL chopper stuck due to impeller wear".
