I've spent hours looking for a 2-in-1 Dual Qi wireless charger that's compact and can only charge my phone and headphones. The market seems to be dominated by multi charging stations with watch chargers. I don't have a watch and I don't need one. Some chargers specifically have an extra Lightning connector in a small holder for connecting AirPods and AirPod Pro. Basically there are 3-in-1 combos with all three or just charging pads with two charging points to put down any wireless charging compatible devices you might have. I wanted as little space as possible on my bedside table, so I opted for a phone stand with a second charging pad directly under, behind, or in front of the phone. I prefer the hanging stand for the height and angle adjustments and the ability to use the charging cable when I need to charge faster. One of the reasons I was so picky is that I use Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus but have an iPhone 8 Plus. I also have an iPad Mini 2 and use a Bose Micro Soundlink, so juggling all those charging cables got too complicated. Now it was necessary to be able to at least charge my phone and headphones wirelessly. I needed something to hold my giant phone AND charge my non-Apple earbuds, which somehow seems like too much to ask for there to be a market just to charge a Qi phone plus an AirPod Pro. Again without the Apple Watch's damn magnetic charger. Of the possible three or four options for this design, my other crazy request, more of a NEED, was that it didn't light up like Las Vegas. I'm very sensitive to light, but when I'm sleeping in a dark room, a tiny LED is enough to distract me. Heck, if my friend leaves the lid on his AirPods open while charging from the charging dock, the projection of that little green LED will be enough to drive me nuts. Other very similar dual chargers have a solid lightweight frame around the base, so I said no. I understand that wireless chargers have charge status indicators, but they can be less annoying. This station only has two tiny ones behind the lower base charging pad. Now the position of these lights makes them useless because you can't see them too well when you actually have the device either in the base or on the phone stand. They alternate between green when available, blue when plugged in and charging, and red when charging is complete. However, when my bedroom lights are off at night, they illuminate my side of the room more than I would like. I do what I usually do for little distracting lights: glue it on. I put a small strip to cover both and it worked. Since I chose the "white" color option for this item, the white plastic lets light through even when covering direct light sources, but is subdued enough to be bearable. I'm sure the black plastic version is opaque enough to block the light. The phone stand also holds my phone well with or without a case, the hole around the connector is handy for cords. The ratchet adjustable height allows me to balance my large phone and find the best charging point. I even think it might work a little more than my iPhone 8+ with a case. I couldn't get a charge through the PopSocket or the magnetic insert plate used with my car mount, but it does get through semi-thin silicone and TPU cases. Overall I'm glad it has a base that takes up minimal space and my Galaxy Buds case fits perfectly and I can tilt my phone over it at an angle to view my phone, save space and grab it. effectively. Both charging pads charge faster than other wireless I've had before, although not as fast as fast charging with a plug-in cable. I haven't had any overheating issues either. It also uses a USB-C connection, which is good for speed and future integration with other electronics (hopefully). The idea that I can fold it up and travel with it is even better. The design is top notch and I hope it lasts a while.
