To store the 6 inch GPS you must remove all hardware attached to the unit. Doesn't hold a car plug and cord with appliance or anything else for that matter. not that HEAVY, can be crushed (still good for protecting the glass surface). The zipper feels heavy enough and the stitching seems adequate. It slides freely in both directions. The padding looks like 1/4 inch thick material and a small rectangle with velcro has given you room. I found that this is not necessary. All in all it's fine for now and I'm going to throw the wire connector and bean bag in the center console.
