Modern design, compact, multi-level wire identification indicator and tester for RJ45 and RJ11 jacks. I was looking for this particular pair of testers to compare to the crappy looking or bulky and outdated design of other brands without the RJ45/11 test feature, even at their larger size. I used to carry a cable finder and cable tester separately in my tool bag, but they were getting heavier and taking up too much space, which I hated. I'm a low voltage integrator and my jobs are always on the go. I pack all my tools neatly in a multi-pocket bag so dozens of plumbing tools and electrical devices can be found with ease, unlike the other guys who always take minutes to find the right tool through the opening of the bag jingles. So I was very happy to use this pair of testers on the go. Then what happened after a few runs is when I tried to use them the tracer or receiver side wouldn't turn on due to low battery. I switched to a new battery and thought everything was fine, but then it kept happening every week. I found them to be very easy to press when carried in my tool bag due to the raised design of the buttons on the blocks. So I started arranging the blocks carefully so as not to accidentally pinch them in my pocket. But these buttons are very raised and it is almost impossible to prevent this. So I didn't give up and changed the batteries every other time and continue to do so. Oh I forgot to mention that these testers come with a nice zipped case to keep the testers safe, but not for my case like other low voltage integrators. Testers are great, but the developer of this product didn't realize we weren't using those bulky, pointless, fancy storage boxes that double the capacity in our tool bag. My final opinion is that these testers are good for those who only use them at home, or for IT professionals who don't mind carrying them around in a hard case and don't need to carry around a lot of other installation tools. I don't recommend it to any other technician (streetfighter) who doesn't dare stash them in a bulky hard case in their already full tool bag. other tools during transportation. If this happens over time, not only will the battery drain indiscriminately, but the keys will also become a bit wobbly and won't be able to be pressed smoothly after a while.
