Review on Bridgestone 2020 Tour B RX Golf Balls: Unmatched Performance for the Season by Marlin Atonyo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I upgraded from a Pro V1 to a Bridgestone Tour B RX

I have between Switched to Pro V1 and Taylormade Tour Preferred and tried Bridgestone RXS when they first came out a few years ago, but this version of the 2020 Tour B RX golf ball really suits my game. I'm a single digit HC (7-8), my club head speed is between 95-105 mph and average. to wear about 250-265 yards. I always have two balls in my pocket, the Pro V1 and this Tour RX, and switch between them during the round. Now I can tell the difference, the RX seems a bit softer but when I measure my moves the RX is the same or longer (measured two good shots yesterday. 285 yards and 303 yards) and the response on green is just as good too . if not slightly better (less heartbeat from where my divs are). I personally believe that if your racquet speed is over 110mph you will perform better with the Pro V1 compared to this RX (under 105mph) but then you can try the over 105mph version for comparison. . I can say I played about 3 rounds with the same ball and it was starting to look a bit worn so it was time to replace it (or eventually lose it). I just bought my second box for $5 less than my first box so I count that as a win. Update 11/21 (one year later): I am 100% playing this Tour B RX and am now buying a new box as I have played my last two balls a few rounds they look like crap and only hooked an OB in this last one round. My HC lost two points from last year (5-6 now) and just started taking lessons from pros to try and get to <3 HC (or at least solidly under 5) but I'm still rocking those same driver speed. (Under 100 at start of round and full swings around 4-5 holes). Same driving distances (anywhere between 250 and 300 depending on wind and fairway stiffness and wobble) and I average. 66% fairway hit. From time to time I try different balls for a couple of holes (Srixon last time) but I haven't found any that give me more confidence or a better feeling than these. The Pro V1 would be my second pick, but with my slower swing speed, I feel the softer RX compression that I don't get with the Pro V1. Stay with Bridgestone for the foreseeable future.

Pros
  • Bridgestone Golf is the best golf ball: TOUR B RX is designed for golfers with a turn speed LESS than 105 mph who want more MAXIMUM REACH
Cons
  • Not the best
