That's the solution! I ordered another connector but it sucked so I ended up going with this one, the connectors are much better, should last forever. My problem: 2012 mazda6 has scanning problems. My solution: disconnect the car battery, cut off the old scanner connector to strip the wires. One can simply melt and peel off the insulation with a lighter, expose the wire, use heat shrink tubing and twist them all together, aligning each wire with its pin position as a guide. Just make sure you secure the cable to the car with three zip ties so it doesn't pull on the connectors. The car now has a working obd2 connector so it can pass emissions 👍
