Permanent error code "Check and refill car "

I bought this in an open box. It had an old busted tire (the bolt that makes the tire run was missing and covered in splattered glue and dirt). After using the se600 a few times it started with the error message "Check upper thread and rethread". This happens every few stitches. I reloaded; changed the needle; coil changed; replaced spool of thread; off and on: car cleaned; all countless times the same error message every few stitches. The machine is currently unusable. Excellent machine

First of all I have been sewing for about 30 years. I have a Viking 1+ that I bought brand new in the 1990's. Back then it was top notch and very expensive. But I didn't like embroidery. I never had any luck with it, the thread tangled and snapped and it was just a mess. Fast forward to the present and now I have two granddaughters who love dresses. I've had health issues since the early 2000's and sewing was the last thing I wanted to do. Since then I've had a few surgeries and I feel fine…
