Review on KOLACEN Automotive Circuit Adapter Low Profile by Justin Albright

Works on fuses and accessories

Decent quality, about what you would expect. Suitable for my DVR. I cut off the crimp connection and used my own heat shrink tubing, although the one that came with the kit will also work. Be careful of the mating orientation, if the wire exits the hot side (+12V with no fuse inserted) of the fuse socket, the added circuitry will bypass the fuse and be unprotected. In my car (Mazda 3 2016) this was a problem as there was very little space between the fuse slot and the wall of the fuse box on the side where I had to take the wire out for it to line up properly. I was able to find a fuse with an ignition switch to plug into and had a hard time fitting it. However, it doesn't look like another brand of this item has been able to solve this problem, unless someone made one with the wire exiting at the top instead of the side. I also recently encountered a situation where there were no internal ignition switch fuses (in a 2017 Mazda 3) so make sure you find a fuse that will suit your needs before purchasing as it is current seems to be. Cars in some cases blow the fuses with the ignition switch.
