Review on 🐠 AquaClear Fish Tank Filter: Enhance Your Aquarium Experience by Lisa Lord

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great. Worth every penny.

First off, my wife and I are aspiring fish farmers (amateurs?). We started with 10 gallons in April 2020 and quickly went up to 20 gallons because we loved it and wanted more fish. Finally, in June 2020, we made the decision to radically upgrade to a 55 gallon tank. So I started researching filters, filter materials, etc. Our 10 and 20 gallon tanks were full and had regular filter cartridges. I wanted what was best for our 55 gallons. I chose higher filtration for my tank, so I use a 60 to 110 gallon filter. This filter was not my first choice. I ordered something else and after receiving and looking at it I wasn't satisfied so I returned it and chose this one. And then it was decided to set up my filtering. I use 3 layers of foam filter sponge. Coarse, medium and fine. I also use Fluval Biomax Bio Rings and Seachem Matrix. I treated the water with Seachem Prime and Stability for a week and slowly added our fish over several days. I used StressGuard when adding fish. We've been adding more fish every week since setting it up and haven't lost any fish. Ammonia levels are where they should be, as are nitrates and nitrites. The water is crystal clear and simply breathtaking. We couldn't ask for more. We come home from work at night and don't even bother to turn on the TV. We just sit and watch our fish. I read several reviews from people that it's too loud. I don't see that as a problem. My Marineland filter was louder than this one. Don't let these reviews put you off buying this filter.
