I will be the first to admit that this is not a cheap sun visor. However, as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. This sun visor is not the flimsy stuff you see at your local auto parts store or department store. It's pretty thick. I live in southern Arizona, where summer temperatures regularly top 100C and sometimes reach 110C, and I couldn't do without this shade. The side facing the sun will definitely feel hot. The rear doesn't get hot though, suggesting the sun visor is doing its job. I highly recommend spending the money to get this visor for your car.
