The built-in air pump of the mat is powered only by electricity and cannot be powered by batteries. Although plugged in, it inflates in less than 5 minutes. In addition, there is a cable compartment on the pump panel when not in use. It even sits at the perfect height when fully inflated. Although after initial inflation a small slit was found in the form of a gap just above the inflation regulator. It loses air and stays uninflated because of the hole. Too bad because everything should have been great except for the hole. It came with a bunch of fixes, so maybe I'll try that. However, I didn't expect to have to fix it right out of the box.
