Bought these for my 5 year old son to use for hiking and hiking. He loves them, they're compact and lightweight so he can easily carry them around, and the focus knob is comfortable for little hands. The included neck strap is adjustable and has a quick release buckle so the binoculars can be easily removed from the strap when not on the trail. The kit even included a microfiber cloth for polishing the eyepiece and a small pouch for storage and protection. So he feels like mom.
