Pretty easy setup, great functionality

So here's the thing. I just got this and there are many videos on how to install it, but in the end I did it my way: 1. You take a piece of plastic and remove the silver button panel from the center console that is used to open the center console . You just pry it off, press and hold the button, and lift the whole piece up. It feels like you're about to break it, but it comes loose.2. Now take a torx 20 and unscrew 2 screws and the whole center dash just pops out. Go from bottom to top.3. All of these manuals say to cut all the wires and talk about all the little connectors. I haven't disabled anything. I did not have to. I just rotated the center piece to the right a bit, like on the passenger seat, while it's still connected.4. 2 more screws for the radio, again Torx 20. The radio slides out.5. I unplugged the main power cable, plugged in the display cable, connected the main power supply to the little box and it just started working but no sound. I found that my car still had fiber optic cables running from the old power cable to the head unit and I routed them to the new power cable. I just tried different places. What worked was the end of the device, the slot closest to the edge.6. I had to plug the audio cable into a small USB adapter and then plug it into the car's USB port in the center console. I ended up making sure it worked first, then I drilled a small hole in the center console's plastic, you can't see the hole because it's sort of at the top of the back of the center console.7. I ended up putting the CarPlay module under the radio, I just slid all the cables back and it fitted perfectly underneath.8. Put the radio back, tighten the 2 screws, put the middle part of the dashboard, tighten the 2 screws.9. Now that I know how to install it I think it should take 15-20 minutes. Most importantly, you don't have to disconnect the cables from the center part of the dashboard, just plug in the necessary cables, place the device under the radio and put everything back. The hardest part was getting it with a drill so there was room in the center console for the USB adapter and audio cable.10. It is great. I've had to restart it a few times, not entirely sure if it's buggy or not, but it does full iPhone mirroring with CarPlay and even AirPlay, meaning you can watch Netflix and such while driving . Either way, your passenger can.

Pros
  • Camera & Mirror Link
Cons
