Review on Jagwire Road Shop Kit - Comprehensive Brake & Shifter Cable and Housing Set in Black for SRAM/Shimano by Ronnie Segobiano

In the preface to this review I replace all the brake and shift cables (internal and external) at the factory, on the wall Mart Mungo bike with 26 inch wheels. The product comes with all the parts shown in the photo, the cables and sheaths appear to be of good quality, the sheaths are pre-lubricated internally. The brake hoses were replaced first and all went well. The only issue I had was that the inner end of the cable that went to the lever was different, I was able to drill through the lever brace to accommodate the end of the cable. *Note* If you want to install without drilling, be very careful with all ends to choose the right parts. I didn't subtract runs for this adjustment because it was an oversight on my part. I ran into trouble installing the shifter cables. The inner end of the cable was perfect for the shifting mechanisms, which is great! Unfortunately the kit did not include enough outer shell to make all the new parts. *Note* The outer shell material consists of two long pieces. One size for the brakes, one for the derailleur. You need to cut the parts you need from long pieces. *You will need a good pair of side cutters or a hacksaw*. I was disappointed that the kit didn't have enough outer shell to do all the work. It was about 8 inches shorter, so I had to repurpose an old piece of casing. Overall this is a quality kit with all the parts you need just not long enough for all the new outer derailleur covers. I should add that if you're buying this kit for a bike that's a kid's bike or a bike that only has a rear derailleur, there should be plenty of outer casing. Start with the worst parts and save the best for last in case it's not enough.
