I always buy this when I build a road or training bike.

There are two sets of cables that I buy, the cheapest if I flip the bike or do a cheap commute, and then I use these materials on the bikes that I personally race and train on. It's a step above Jagwire's best stuff, and it's a great value. I've used the same cable housing in bulk at bike shops, it's just the standard (we sell it for a dollar a foot without the spool). I'm currently stuck in an apartment building on a project bike during quarantine and this kit was just what I usually use.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • exchangeable

OEM Style Kit, pretty much the same as what you get in the pre-packed version. This set had enough bodywork to build a road bike with a 58cm frame, with plenty of body slack as the frame has standard head tube cable stops. I have used the same set of Jagwire cables on other bikes with no problem after having ridden thousands of miles. If your frame has a full-size body, this won't do the trick, but if your bike has typical road bike cable routing, it should do the trick. .

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • New competition has arrived

Not enough tips. The brake housing cuts poorly.

The brake housing is very difficult to cut straight even with my body cutting tool. The kit does not come with enough sleeves to fit my bike's brake pad. It's quite frustrating as they probably saved a hundredth of a cent by not including it, but for me an additional purchase means I have to either drive to the store or pay for shipping, which far exceeds the cost of the tip. The cables themselves inside the case are very smooth. We'll see about the durability, but I have no reason to expect…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Negative impression

Good mid-range cable.

High-quality cable set with all the necessary connections. The crimp wire ends are of decent quality and the body ends are of good quality. The cables are smooth and work as expected. I would trust these cables on any bike. I use Jagwire on my touring bike and don't see the need to pay more for a consumable item like cables. I also know large garages that use Jagwire for most of their repair work. It really isn't worth paying more for plated cables and you may want to replace plated cables…

Pros
  • Beautiful packaging
Cons
  • Quality

The packaging is not OEM. Good cables

I usually take the complete Jagwire Road Pro cables but it doesn't seem to be sold at Revain anymore and the individual kits seem to be double the price of what they used to be complete kit. These cables came in non-OEM packaging and no instructions. The brake cable housings in particular are clearly inferior to the "Pro" version (much heavier, more difficult to cut). The internal shifter cables are stock steel without the slick Teflon coating you get on the "Pro" version. While Teflon has a…

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model

Great Product - Great Service - Great Price

When I was restoring my 30 year old Schwinn Tempo I decided to go back to the 90's! LOL 6-spd to 7-spd conversion and of course the necessary cables for STI functionality. After reviewing the products available, I settled on the rJagwire "brifter" cables based on reviews and experiences with the product. Interface should be with 7 speed MicroShift brifters and new Shimano 105 dual pivot brakes with wet/dry Kool Stop pads. My favorite mechanic commented on how well I tuned the composite sand…

Excellent quality kit, a little small for the number of derailleurs

In the preface to this review I replace all the brake and shift cables (internal and external) at the factory, on the wall Mart Mungo bike with 26 inch wheels. The product comes with all the parts shown in the photo, the cables and sheaths appear to be of good quality, the sheaths are pre-lubricated internally. The brake hoses were replaced first and all went well. The only issue I had was that the inner end of the cable that went to the lever was different, I was able to drill through the…

Pros
  • Sample for a year
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Before installation, please check that you have received the correct case.

Update: I received a refund, ordered a replacement kit (this time from Real Good Cycles) that had the correct parts and installed the correct housing. It was still a pain in my ass and a temporary hazard to me and Revain has no clear way to rate the seller* along with the product. So I'm bumping it up to three stars, but the point still stands - double-check your stuff before installing it, or you might find your bug while you're out. An initial assessment follows. ----…
