This product has proven surprisingly effective in relieving pain, even with the severe decay of tooth structures that has developed over the years as a result of the unscrupulous work of licensed dentists. I tried covering the damaged areas with a zinc oxide glass cement product but it didn't stay in place long enough to be useful and in some damaged areas it didn't hold at all. I cannot confirm any actual RECOVERY of damaged structures but the product does not list any known narcotic or other addictive substances and in the time I have used it has significantly minimized and phonated past pain.
