I have owned this meter for 2 years now. I bought this device with my humidifier. I always want to know what my humidity is doing. Below 30% I start getting electrocuted by anything metallic in my house, my breathing gets worse and it's harder to sleep. 40% is really the optimal value as I don't experience shock, breathe easily and sleep soundly. But you don't want the humidity in your house to rise above 50%, then it will get too humid and you start sweating, or it can cause electrical damage to the electronics. The counter is very simple and very easy to use. Just put in an AA battery and it's been running on the same battery for 2 years now! It's clear that it's effective on batteries, as most devices don't last that long on batteries. There is a button on the back to toggle the measurements from F to C depending on where you live. I've never had any problems with it and can only recommend it. 5 STARS! UPDATE: January 13, 2019 Just wanted to give people a quick update so you all know my meter is still running. In 3 years of ownership I've only changed the batteries in it once. Energizer LR6 alkaline batteries last a long time. The LEDs on the display screen never went out and the meter reading is still accurate. For anyone curious about the durability of this gauge, rest assured it's pretty good. I'm sticking with my rating of 5 out of 5 stars!
