I was so pleasantly surprised by this bad boy. The fleece material is incredibly soft AND so soft my boys don't start chewing right away. The printed side (I have watermelon) is quite thick and tightly woven, so if they decide to chew on it, it will take a while to come off. One of my guys managed to chew through the seam between the fleece and the padded fabric, but the rest makes up for his new bag very well. Also the straps that hang it from the walls/ceiling of the cage are also well done. I'd say it's some kind of canvas weave, but it's durable nonetheless. Even with a ripped seam, it holds up well to washing. Overall this is a great hammock at a great price and I will definitely be buying more
