Review on 🧊 Browne 7-1/2" Ice Pick: Sturdy and Versatile Tool for All Your Ice Needs! by Kyle Whitehead

Good point of view; works well.

It's hard to find an ice ax these days with a good sharp point that gradually tapers towards the point, but this one deserves attention. Most ice axes today have blunt "points"; My husband and I have been looking for an ice ax like Browne-Halco for a long time. The beak is made of coated steel. The overall length of this tool is comfortable to hold and has a sturdy wooden handle. Time will tell if the stylus and pick stay in tact. We have no idea how the pickaxe is attached to the handle. We have an older version of this that we have been using for over 30 years with no pick separation. The older model's grip is slightly longer (4 1/8 inches including the metal brace) and thicker (7/8 inches) and easier to hold, but the pick length is the same. This one is the closest to the old one we've found so far. The pick is 4 5/8" long with a 3 5/8" grip including the metal connector and is 13/16" thick. We would have been happier if the grip was longer, but we're very glad that it was we have found it and can warmly recommend it.
