so I liked the concept. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't. This protects my counter and makes my cutting board easier to use by simply swapping out these mats. Number 1. Knife cut carpet2. Mats don't stay in place 3. The rugs are quite large for small jobs and I was reluctant to pull out this monstrous rug to chop up some strawberries or tomatoes, for example. The colors don't really make sense to me. and I found that I just pulled out the rug and used it regardless of the color. On the other hand: 1. It doesn't increase the height of my table, giving me a comfortable cutting position unlike thick cutting boards.2. I love that I can fold and roll it up to easily pop the sliced stuff into a pot/pan or mixing bowl. It doesn't seem to absorb odors and is fairly easy to clean compared to a cutting board or wood.
