Tips & Tricks: Electrical

These extremely flexible polymeric tubing (clamps) can be tricky to install, but work well with most wire types. If you want to connect it to the end that has a USB A connector, you'll need to start at the other end of the cable (Lightning, Micro, C) and go to the USB Type A connector. Try connecting it via the Type A connector pulling a plug is next to impossible. They work best with cables that have a sharp square shoulder on the connector (such as Apple's OEM cables). As with most of these products, prevention is better than cure. Put one on the cord before it starts to fray, rather than trying to fix an already broken cord. If the cable has already started to fray, try patching the broken cable with 3D fabric paint and let it dry for a day or two before applying one of these zip ties.
