This heatsink and fan combo keeps the Raspberry Pi cool even when I'm running benchmarks that fully utilize a quad-core processor. Under full load, the CPU temperature is 49 degrees Celsius after 20 minutes of operation. If you use a HAT on the GPIO pins, the heatsink and fan are low enough in profile to attach the HAT without a GPIO extender. Title. Selecting the right size rack to mount on the heatsink to support the HAT requires trial and error. The kit includes stands of different sizes (heights) so you should be able to find the right size for your HAT. Because the fan is small, it generates more noise than larger fans. It's not noisy, just louder than large fans.
