Hope this lasts. It's an odd size, but big enough for a 24-ounce water bottle. Rather than being snug fitting, the carrier is more like a bag so the water bottle is not secured inside, requiring you to remove the bottle from the carrier to drink. In other words, it is done with two hands, which is sometimes difficult in operation. The strap seems reliable.
