Review on Zalman Z3 Iceberg Premium Gaming Computer Case with RGB Fans and Tempered Glass Side Door in White by Duane Hayes

Lots to love, but with some caveats

Advertised as a "Medium Case”, this case is slightly taller and slightly smaller than most traditional mid-sized cases. This gives a good slimming effect. I've included a comparison image with a stock Corsair 175r center tower to show you the difference. It is very light and well built. I was initially confused about the inclusion of only two fans, but the lighting and backlighting are perfect for this case. It's not overdone and really lets the other components shine. I LOVE how the fans and case complement each other. Assembly was pretty easy, but things got a little smaller, so be prepared. Luckily, the back is actually a bit deeper to give you extra room to attach and route cables without having to struggle to attach the cover. He slid effortlessly. Top quality tempered glass and covered with protective plastic on both sides. I love it when case makers cut out a slider at the bottom to make it easier to insert and remove without touching the glass itself. The two fans are connected to a very small rear fan hub that has room for two more fans, and then connected to a standard SATA power cable. The fans are so specialized and fit so well into the case that I'm not sure other fans wouldn't clash with the aesthetics. You can control the LEDs with the wired LED select button on the top panel or connect a hub to a compatible motherboard. The instructions say you can only fit a 240mm wheel on top, but I was able to fit an EVGA 280mm CLC so you can get away with a larger wheel depending on what wheel you want. I would suggest a top mount as the depth of the case can come into play when installing a GPU and the included fans really play with each other in perfect light balance. For reference, the large Gigabyte Aorus Master 3070 fits in quite comfortably. If I have any complaints, it could be a problem with the PSU bay. I installed an EVGA 850W G2 and had to remove the 3.5" drive bay to make room for all the cables and the PSU (which isn't a problem after removing the bay). If you have a 3.5" If you need to use a drive bay, you should definitely go for a shorter PSU. The manual says it can accommodate a 360mm front wheel. That can be a comforting wish if you must use a 2.5" bay and/or have a large PSU. Height and width weren't a problem. The screen/filter on top will not sit flush after you install the raised screws/washers for the rads. If you are installing flat-head screws for fans, this is not a problem Problem. A small aesthetic bump down the road but still there. All in all this is a very good case that goes perfectly with the $50 range -70. I like the overall balance and aesthetics of this one. I was traditionally a " black, grey, only br "Once colored" case builder, but the way it turned out might give me pause for future builds. 5/5
