I do not recommend using it in a driveway
I ordered this set to teach my son how to play tennis. He's not even three yet so I needed something very easy to use. But I don't recommend using this in your entryway. Even if the ball is soft, you can still hit it on the street and crash into a passing car. Or worse, your child might run outside and get hit while trying to get the ball back. Not sure at all. I recommend using it in the backyard (if you have a big enough yard) or on a regular tennis court until your child is comfortable holding a real tennis racquet.
