Excellent value for money

The first light for this scope was fired under adverse conditions - on a warm Texan summer evening with a full moon. Needless to say I wasn't expecting much but I was surprised! Jupiter showed excellent detail, the Great Red Spot was clearly visible, and some structure was visible at the edges of the cloud band. Saturn was also nice to see, despite being much closer to the moon. Good contrast, Cassini region is visible, cloud bands are visible on the planet. I was really impressed. The sight arrived collimated out of the box, no adjustments were needed. The laser finder does what it's supposed to do, but it looks like it might need an upgrade in the future. The supplied eyepieces are ok, not the best you can get but certainly shows the scope's potential. In the future, consider upgrading your eyepieces and adding a Barlow. I was going to replace the bag that comes with the kit anyway. In my case, one of the clips on the straps broke on arrival. In short, great optics! The volume alone is worth the money. This is the perfect scope for observing the planets and the moon. Some deep sky objects such as globular clusters and planetary nebulae are also within range. Accessories are a valuable addition to the kit, but if you're making serious observations, consider upgrading some of them over time. I cannot discount accessories because the optics are first class. Sharp, excellent contrast, no noticeable color errors. We recommend!
