Review on πŸš— Dorman 264-983 Engine Valve Cover: The Perfect Fit for Jeep Models by Rory Stice

Terrible in every way

Came used. And the inscription on the front was upside down. It fits, but the Dorman check valve, sold separately, won't stay in and keeps popping out, causing a blowout. Came unpackaged but in a plastic bag, so the metal seal was bent, the rubber grommets broke during installation and had to be purchased separately. Called Dorman about the warranty and they won't send you replacement parts, you have to send back the entire valve cover, gasket, rubber bushings, rubber valve seats and bolts. The cover is very heavy but obviously not of Mopar quality and will cost a fortune to send back. Revain wasn't thrilled with working with me and said he would mark it as damaged on delivery so they could make an insurance claim even if they got the money from me. Thank goodness the screws don't leak but I used the old ones as the ones that came with the kit were askew and looked cheap what a job. If you are doing it yourself on a 4.0 liter 6 cylinder engine look at the bolt removal and installation diagram, yes this is important take a picture of where the floor goes because in your frustration you will forget Fix your screws as some of them are different. Make sure you have the right specialty tools for those hard-to-reach rear bolts, and don't lose those torque dampers, metal bushings that rubber bushings fit under. If you don't bring new ones you will have to fight your way through the landfill as they are no longer made.
