Great Running Shoe - Over-the-top Durability

Let me start by saying that I would buy these shoes again. However, I have some complaints which is why I am writing this review. I bought them for work. I work in the ER and work 12.5 hours a week. These shoes have worked great. What turns me on is that Xero shoes claim a 5,000 mile outsole guarantee and that "we don't expect you'll ever need that guarantee...". less than 1mm. The problem is that once you get to that point on the tread on clean rubber they become very slippery meaning this milestone is very unlikely as you will throw them away after a fall. I've been wearing shoes to work 3 days a week for 2.5 years. per day, so let's say 5 x 3 is 15 miles per week, 780 miles per year for 2.5 years, that's 1950 miles. If we happen to add 1000 miles for a weekend or whatever, you'll see that I've barely hit the 3000 mile mark and the shoe is falling apart. Again, after 3000 miles most shoes will probably fall apart so I will buy from them again but I feel like warranty marketing breathes smoke. In the first 12 months I almost ran out of tread in the right shoes. I keep wearing them because they are comfortable.
