As others have said, the auto-off switch doesn't seem to work at first glance. When I first installed it, I was disappointed that my dash cam didn't turn off after turning off the ignition. However, I read another comment that says it turns off after five minutes and of course that's how it works. Just wait 5 minutes and it should turn off if you use shutdown mode. Not ideal as it wastes storage by recording every time I stop the car, but it's much better than having it on all the time. Overall I am very happy with this little device. Much easier than fixing it!
