Review on Easy-Step Door Stops (4 Inch) - Brass (Premium Quality Finish) : Hands-Free by Warren Hess

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sure, it's easier to lift, but MUCH harder to fold.

If you REALLY need a laptop with an 'easy level' feature, this one is well built and a good price. BUT. I'm telling you, you're better off WITHOUT the "Easy Lift" feature or using an alternative like a magnetic latch or hook. Of course, the "light step" function makes it easier to get on. That's great, but it's MUCH harder to get it down now. You see, such a mechanism needs a spring to pull it up. If you put it down, that block will bounce again unless your foot goes almost all the way over it. I know... Sounds easy, but it's not. This is because you can only 'grab' it at the tip (tip) so it detaches from your foot halfway so your foot slides to the ground and it pops back out. Chances are your hands are full of groceries. when you put it down not if you put it back. So if only one way can be easy, omit it when it matters most. If you need a hinged doorstop, stick with the simpler (cheaper) style. (And you can still pick them up without bending over.)

Pros
  • Stationery
Cons
  • Big and Bulky
