If you haven't already, don't get bogged down by these hinges.

If you've moved into a house with a kitchen full of cabinets with these self-closing hinges - my condolences! Chances are you have or will come across some doors that don't close completely. They are the ones who benefit the most. I have found that after 15 years of service with these hinges their effective functional life is around 5-7 years. After that, you either endure partially open doors or, if necessary, buy replacements with new plastic cam bushings, which are the essence of their self-closing mechanisms. In addition, adjusting the position of doors with screws and wedges often requires correction and tightening. - even overweight. With neglected maintenance, they simply fall out of the hinge rail. So I urge you never to install these hinges on new cabinets! You will mourn for years. Since the doors must be cut with appropriately sized shell holes to accommodate the hinges, new cabinet doors may also be required to rid yourself of these "resin kids" and install quality hardware.
