I'm keeping this because it's a useful little hint. Not 5 stars though because I think the description and answers about connecting 2 monitors are a bit misleading. You can connect a laptop (Chromebook in my case) to 2 monitors, one via DVI and one via VGA. It recognizes the second display and allows you to extend your desktop BUT display 3 can only show display 2 so there is no true three monitor setup. The included instructions state this clearly, but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere in the list.
