Review on 🏒 Honeywell 5816OD Outdoor Wireless Magnetic Contact Sensor by Guillo Tilden

Very good assortment

Very good so far. I bought four of these to install four external gates in my apartment building and connect to my 2GB panel. Two of the four gates are quite a distance from HQ with the farthest being probably over 200ft away so I was a little worried they would have range without a repeater. So far (I've had them running for about a week and I'll update this review if I run into any issues) they haven't had any range issues. Assembly was very easy with the supplied screws on the aluminum gate. I'm not very handy and it only took a few minutes at a time. The larger block includes a ripping feature in case someone tries to rip it off. I find it very useful to have it at the outside gate. Although I have not set them to sound an alarm, they are set to sound an alarm on my alarm panel and give me a push notification or SMS via alarm.com whenever the gate is opened / Send email Time when one of the gates will remain open for a specific time. I used to have a constant fear that my wipers would leave the gate open and my dog would get out, and now I don't have to worry. It's also good for security to get that call or push notification when someone's there when nobody should be there. This is a strength multiplier if you have security cameras, as the notification that the gate will open when nobody is home is a good reason to disable your cameras. Edit: About 11 months later these sensors are still working with no reliability issues. Also on original batteries.
