I bought 1x but 2x. I thought the size fits like 2x. I only washed them once. If they make it through the summer, I'll be happy. When you first open the packaging, the texture feels like paper. Wash before wearing. Very light material, just what I wanted. I can't wear synthetic materials at all, otherwise I get itchy. It is a blend of 55% cotton and 45% polyester. I think the mix prevents shrinkage. This material is very light and soft with a breathable feel (ideal for sweltering wet weather). I wouldn't wear it to go to the mall. Definitely comfortable and suitable for home and yard; or visit the neighbors for evening tea. A good buy. so far very satisfied.
