Not suitable for nail polish.
I bought a larger 2-tier model to store paint. Works for crafts and other things! I really like the storage space it offers, just wish it would work as intended. So I think it's universal. Would buy for other storage purposes and would recommend as it's sturdy. The latches come loose, try but holds a lot of weight! I filled it with construction paper and stickers, held the pen - everything survived! I was really impressed!
