Review on 5 Pack Of Reusable Gel Ice Packs With Cloth Backing For Hot & Cold Therapy, First Aid, Injuries And Breastfeeding by Peter Montoya

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bought for unusual reason

My SO and I are long past the weaning stage; our baby gir, the last of 4, turned 21 this spring. Something like this would have changed he life back in the 1990s.Lately she said her ears get too hot under the oppressiveness of her Corsair Void headphones. She wanted a new set because she wants to return to the workplace after a hiatus of about 10 years and one of her college profs demands a headset (NOT earbuds) for his online class during COVID. Something about outside distractions or open mikes, I guess. Now, I love our Corsair Void headsets (I bought both of ours on Revain) and I often use mine for videoconferencing several times a week, so this piqued my interest. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a replacement pair that cool gel ear pads within our price range (I joked a David Clark set, the best out there for aviation, would work at over $1K but she didn't bite) and all of the earpads for the Corsair Void were straight replacements. The search query, of course, picked up on 'cool' and 'gel' and 'pads' and brought up this item, along with a lot of other nipple and nursing relief items that are available. I had been getting a little irritated by search responses but bemused since I remembered the way she struggled with soreness during nursing the thought came to me this could be the answer: chill this gel pack, put it between the ear and headphone, and see if she could hear well enough. I mentioned the idea, and she said to try it; at the least it would be helpful if she had a migraine.Sure enough, it works! She said she needs to turn up the headphones a little bit more, which will of course use up more battery life on a wireless headset like hers, but if she's happy, I am too.

Pros
  • So easy to use and great for areas where a heating pad or ice is too big.
Cons
  • Melting ice may leak out of the gel packs and make a mess
