About a month later I sent it back quite disappointed.

Overall I'm very happy with the Xootr Cruz. This is a very durable scooter, it rides like a dream on smooth surfaces and feels pretty sturdy. Still, this product isn't perfect and there are a few things to consider when thinking about buying this scooter. First, note that the handlebars are secured by a locking system that CAN and WILL loosen over time. For weeks and months you have to pull a little bit more and eventually this system breaks down. It most likely won't be more than a few years before you need to contact the company and fix it. I noticed this when the first Xootr Cruz I got from Amazon had this problem straight away. Every time I rode it, I had to tighten the handlebars a little more. I ended up getting an exchange and this one was much better. So far, in 8 days, I haven't had to make any adjustments. The second small issue with this scooter is the lack of a footrest. let's go boys! Almost $300 and you can't factor in something so simple? It's really annoying to park without tipping over. Especially if you're trying to get mail or rummaging in a bag for keys. Finally, the scooter is VERY VERY low. You might get a little over an inch of ground clearance. This means that any uneven pavement, any roots that have shifted the pavement will cause you to stop, slow down and overcome the obstacle. If the scooter was a bit bigger it would be harder to push/kick (more resistance) but that would also solve this problem. It's a compromise I can understand, but still awkward. These are the three main problems I see with this scooter. (1) Weak handlebar locking system that loosens over time, (2) no footrest, and (3) very low position. Overall I'm happy with my purchase (having returned the first one that was defective) and use it every day for my commute to work. I weigh about 180 pounds and it supports my weight with no problem. I would say if you have money go for it. This might be just what you're looking for if, like mine, your commute is only about 1.5-2 miles one way. Edit: This is a continuation of my original review. After using this scooter as my daily commuter for about 1.5 miles one way for about 27 days, I encountered the same issue as my first one. The latch that holds the steering wheel up is simply unreliable. Will be lost over time. I didn't over tighten it, I just held it exactly as it came out of the box because it worked fine for a couple of weeks. I pushed on the bars and everything was tight. Then one day it wasn't tight enough. I pulled it a bit tighter and it was still lost. At the moment I just don't trust the scooter. Will ask for a refund.
