Very easy to assemble but be sure to read the instructions as they have no text and there are places where multiple parts overlap to use the same screw. Almost any screw can be hand tightened, and then when all the screws needed for that particular part are in place, they can be tightened with a screwdriver (they take Philips or a blade). Additional bolts and nuts are included. For the base, I used the included wheels so we could try different rack placements; Once we get that sorted I'll probably take the wheels off and put in the cleats as that gives it a little more stability. The wheels make assembly a little easier as you can rotate the stand while you work without getting up. As with any freestanding two-handed tool stand, the placement of brooms, hoes, etc. must be done with care to avoid stand imbalance. Stability is aided by the bottom shelf, which can support fairly heavy items. Unlike the plastic versions of these racks, extreme heat will not weaken the construction of this tool rack. Highly recommended - I'm considering the second one.
