Excellent product. Better value for money than other rust removers I've seen as you get almost double the size for the same or less money. All three blocks are very effective at removing red rust that corrodes metal. You can even remove black rust (often referred to as a patina because black rust doesn't eat away at metal like red rust and actually protects it from red rust) to some extent if you want a more polished finish. The course block pretty quickly redeemed the machete from decades of neglect. A medium to fine grit is sufficient for knives and blades in the best condition. Sandpaper works too. But when it comes down to it, the price between paper and these rubberized blocks is probably about the same (at least that was the case at the time of this writing), with these rubber sand blocks being much easier to work with when cleaning metal... before all because they are easier to hold and don't tear like paper.
