Review on ⚙️ Dayco 89607 Belt Tensioner: Enhanced SEO-friendly Product Title by Chris Ledet

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Seems to be a good OEM replacement for a Jeep Wrangler JK

Squeaking noise coming from the engine bay of my 2011 Jeep Wrangler 3.8. I figured the water pump (replacing the pump along with coolant and hoses) didn't eliminate the creaking. I thought it was the tensioner (replaced) that partially eliminated the creaking. Finally, I replaced the serpentine strap with a gatorback strap - the squeaking is gone. I know the tensioner bearing is almost gone because when I sprayed lube in the rotating bearing area, the creaking went away temporarily. Like most things, V-ribbed belts, tensioners, etc. are a system that work together. Sorta is glad he replaced the tensioner as it is very easy to access and replace. Originally bought an OEM exact replacement (made in Canada) which must have been defective because it squeaked worse than the original. This Dayco seems cheaper so durability is a bit of a concern, but so far it's performing well. The spring in them weakens over time, and replacing the tensioner and belt after 100,000km is probably a good idea.
