This is a premium mid-range i5/8G/128G Chromebook. I was actually looking at a lower spec version that has an Intel i3 processor but reduced the RAM to 4GB and storage to 64GB. I could live with an i3 and 64GB of storage, but I wanted 8GB of storage so I went with the i5 version. In my previous Chromebook I used an Intel m3 processor with 4GB of memory. Web pages now load faster. This Chromebook has a fan so I thought it would be annoying, but when it's on you won't hear it at the level I use my Chromebook at. You can hear it at full speed when you first turn it on, but it fades quickly. The keyboard keys are okay, but they clatter a bit when you touch them from the side. The backlighting of the keys is good, but I didn't expect that yet. The trackpad is quite large and very good, but sometimes gets in the way when typing. One nice thing this Chromebook added from my old one is a USB-A port, which is always welcome. It also has an HDMI port, but I doubt I'll be using that any time soon. USB-C ports are on both sides and can be used to charge the battery. The biggest upgrade for me is the display. The old Chromebook was 12.5 inches with a 16:9 aspect ratio, but this one is 13.5 inches with a 3:2 aspect ratio, which is much better for web browsing and documents. The larger display offers a larger overall size compared to a 16:9 display, so it may be too big for travel, although it fits in an existing carry-on if I use it that way. This is by no means a lightweight notebook.
