At the same time, these canisters look attractive and thin, so they take up less counter space. They are definitely not stainless! After receiving them, I washed them and noticed there were water stains on them, so I tried cleaning the stainless steel polish. After all, they have to be stainless steel, right? Well, polishing the stainless steel didn't work and I used a Windex and a microfiber cloth to remove the stains, which didn't really work either! I've put sugar in one of them, but when I turn the canister upside down, which I did when trying to clean it, the sugar kinda pools around the neck of the canister and makes a mess when opening it! I specifically wanted screw top canisters and was very happy to find them. However, the lids have no inner liner and the canisters turn out to be just glass jars with a wafer-thin stainless steel coating. I am not satisfied with the purchase and do not recommend it.
