Review on Cable Matters 2-Pack 16 AWG Heavy Duty 3 Prong Computer Monitor Power Cord – 10 Feet, UL Listed (NEMA 5-15P to IEC C13) by Julio Solano

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Don't buy, they don't mate well with standard computer/monitor plugs.

I don't know what's wrong with them, just got them today and noticed that they do not work does not fit very well in my monitor. They're loose and/or don't go all the way in, so if you wiggle the cord, the monitor loses power. I used to have one cable and even had a few others lying around to make sure it wasn't my monitor and they fit snugly and are snug. The monitor stays on even if you move the cables. I just need the length of these new ones I got here so I can raise my desk to stand while I work. But it doesn't help me if you move the table up, it wiggles the cables and turns off the monitor when you use those cables. I don't know why these don't fit. These are meant to be standard computer/monitor cables. I want them to work, they seem to be great quality and I love the 15ft length. But due to the obviously non-standard ending, not fitting on a standard computer/monitor, I cannot recommend them for purchase.

Pros
  • 16 AWG computer power cord rated at 13A to support general power needs; Thicker but flexible cord is safer and more reliable than most 18AWG power cords that come with your unit or are sold as replacement cords
Cons
  • Not sure
