Review on πŸ”΅ S4 Gear Lockdown X Binocular Harness: Hands Free & Adjustable for Leupold, Nikon, Swarovski & More - Blue by Heidi Massine

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It is the greatest binocular accessory ever invented by man.

This harness may not be suitable for every body type, which may be the reason for some negative reviews. I also use it for hiking, biking and bird watching. So if you use it for hunting and bush climbing, it might not perform as well as some of the others that are more hunting-focused. But judging by how much I use it, this is the best binocular accessory ever invented by man. That makes even 10x50 bins weightless for me. It took a lot of experimentation and use to fine tune everything to my body. I've found it best for me to adjust so the bins are as high on my chest as possible and that helped keep everything in place and adjusted properly. So if you don't like it at first, experiment with ALL the adjustable features for the best fit and feel, including for example the cables connecting the bins to the seat belts, which should be adjusted to wear about halfway up the harness weight of the garbage can. . If you do not adjust this function properly, you will put too much weight on your neck. Two other very important things. First make sure you have the X version shown in the photo as it is much better than the old version with a narrow strap on the back. Second, I disagree with the company size guide. The product pictured here is a "regular" size which is too big for anything smaller than 10x50. I have and use both sizes. If you use it for 42mm or smaller binoculars, you should buy the Micro version. I think that's why some reviews say the binoculars don't stay in the compartment of the case and the strap isn't adjusted properly and doesn't sit on the body. In this regular version I sometimes carry around my 15 x 56 or even 14 x 40 cinder block Fujinon IS. In fact, the micro version is slightly larger than what I need for my 8.5x42 and works well with 10x50. I will never use a strap on anything 30mm or larger ever again.
