I used this kit to test some old IDE drives that I wanted to get rid of. It's nice to be able to extract old files and format old drives before getting rid of them. When using this kit I found that the two drives I was attempting to eject were bad. For a while I wondered if my kit was defective, but further testing showed the kit was fine and the discs were bad. I noticed a few reviews complaining about the sloppy work of the glue. I examined my cable and found a complaint about the hot melt adhesive used to attach and relieve the wires in the large 4-pin power connector. That it's finished is actually a pretty good idea, so I won't be too quick to criticize. After testing several drives, I was pleased with the results. This little kit did a great job and for the money I really don't think you can beat it.
