Review on LG 49WL95C-W 49-Inch Curved Ultrawide 5120x1440p Monitor with Tilt and Height Adjustment by Oscar Fabian

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great monitor, software needs improvement.

I bought this monitor mainly to be able to switch between PC and MacBook Pro with the same keyboard (only one keyboard, two mice don't bother me). My settings: PC connected via Displayport and MBP via USB-C. The PC is something like Alienware, while the Mac is the 2019 15-inch MacBook Pro. Keyboard and mouse sharing is done through software called Dual Controller (provided by LG). When I first installed the dual controller on the MBP, it seemed to me that the language was set incorrectly and all the text was displayed as question marks. Absolutely useless. I called LG support and got no answer. So I resigned myself to using two keyboards and two mice and manually switching between them with the monitor's joystick. It's still a great monitor. Fast forward about a month. Not sure if LG updated the dual controller software or if updating to Catalina (10.15.5) fixed the issue, but somehow the dual controller became useful and I was able to read the text. Now I can use the same keyboard between MBP and PC, with a few questions: 1. I rarely use frame by frame, so I still manually switch between PC and MBP using the monitor's joystick. There is no way to switch between the monitor inputs from the keyboard that I found.2. dual controller software. lagging behind. Printing to the MBP is sometimes slow. I write programs, I type fast. He has to be able to keep up. As I said, this is still a great monitor. The size takes a little getting used to, but after a month of use I would never go back to my dual 24 inch monitors.
